At first glance our visitor is greeted by a large salt marsh with a majestic Mill in the center. There are actually two salt pans: the Ettore salt pans and the Infersa salt pans.
Two very ancient names, which we have inherited from History, protected and guarded for centuries, and which have inspired and given meaning to the new course taken in recent years. Three letters that contain and tell a thousand-year history: SEI, or the acronym for Saline Ettore and Infersa. The restoration of the Mill is due to the tenacity and persistence of Antonio D’Alì Staiti, president from the 1980s to 2011 of SOSALT SPA (Sea Salt Industry in Trapani), who has dedicated much of his life to maintaining the salt pans and mills with passion, innovation and ambition in raising awareness of the culture and importance of salt. Currently, Giacomo D’Alì Staiti current president of Sosalt Spa has given continuity to the desire to keep the salt pans alive not only for the purpose of sea salt production but also by making everyone see the immensity of culture that exists in them. His wife Adele Occhipinti, CEO of Saline Ettore e Infersa and a true pillar of the company, with persistence, ambition and a spirit of innovation has created and perfected several nature trails and experiences related to salt and the salt marsh so that visitors can experience and learn about the fascinating world of salt.

THE BRAND SEI

SEI stands for Saline Ettore and Infersa. Due to its two-sided meaning, it is chosen for its ability to express and represent values and emotions in just three letters. SEI then becomes the second person of the verb to be and transfers its intrinsic value, directly to the visitor, who becomes the absolute protagonist of our salt tourism experiences. The SEI brand was conceived in 2020, to express three fundamental values: to enhance the historical name of our salt pans; to highlight a characteristic peculiar to our mill: the 6 blades; and finally to give it a unique and strongly identifying trait, through the research and attribution of a color that is perhaps unique in its essence: the Salt Pans Pink. A color study was born at the same time where a color attributed to us was chosen and named: Pantone 486 C – Isola Lunga.

THE STRUCTURES.

Active for more than 5 centuries, a must-see tourist destination for those coming to Sicily, the first thing that strikes the visitor is the presence of our impressive Mill. Which dominates the scene and is the setting for one of the most beautiful and photographed sunsets in Europe and beyond, in fact in a recent survey travelers awarded it the 4th most beautiful sunset in the world. The subject of careful and complex conservation restoration, today the Mill is fully functional and a visit to its interior is one of the main tourist attractions of the salt pans. The Bottega del Sale, also inside the mill, offers the opportunity to buy whole sea salts from the Re line, along with various cosmetic products from the Solemarevento line. A must stop is worth theMamma Caura. The sunset bar inside the Ettore Infersa saltworks where you can stop for a sunset aperitif while tasting cocktails, wines, champagne along with traditional Sicilian dishes and more. In addition, Mamma Caura offers: breakfast, quick lunches and dinners, which during the evening together with the illuminated mills create a magical atmosphere. For those with more time on their hands, the most exclusive and memorable stop is to reach the Isola Lunga. An uninhabited island within Marsala’s Stagnone Nature Reserve, easily reached by private lagoon boats, where it will be possible to take a salt marsh dive course. Coming into contact with salt, salt water and the salt marsh habitat, causes an immediate relaxing effect with great regenerative power. Evenings on the island end with sunset aperitifs and dinners under the stars as well as the possibility of spending a night inside one of the very exclusive rooms of our Salt Resort.
